Soccer Bio!
From the time Casey Donnelly first laced up cleats at five years old, soccer has been the center of her athletic identity. What began as a childhood introduction quickly became her primary passion, shaping her routines, friendships, and goals. While many athletes shift between sports growing up, Casey always knew soccer was different for her—it was the constant she wanted to excel in.
She spent her entire youth playing competitive club soccer, where she learned advanced skills, tactical understanding, and the discipline required for year-round training. Competing against strong regional programs pushed her to keep raising her level and helped her develop the competitive mindset that would define her later career.
In high school, Casey earned a spot on the varsity team and became an immediate contributor. Over four years, she established herself as a leader on and off the field—eventually being named captain. In that role, she set standards for work ethic, accountability, and team culture, while also helping guide younger players through the program. Leading a varsity squad not only sharpened her presence as an athlete but also prepared her for the next stage: collegiate soccer.
Her dedication and consistency paid off when she was recruited to play at Roger Williams University. Transitioning to NCAA-level competition marked a new challenge—faster play, higher physical demands, and a deeper tactical landscape—but it also represented the culmination of everything she had worked toward since childhood. Now a junior at RWU, Casey continues to develop as a student-athlete, balancing academic goals with the sport that has shaped her life for more than a decade.
What remains unchanged is her love for the game—its pace, its competitive energy, its community, and the drive it instills in her. Soccer has always been her main sport, her greatest outlet, and her clearest path forward. And as she moves through her collegiate career, Casey carries the same mindset she had at five years old: play hard, keep growing, and never lose the spark that started it all.
